Beehouse Collective
mikveh oh - by arché studio
The Mikveh Oh by Arqhé Studio is a bath and wellness space explicitly designed for conservative Jewish women where it features an unambiguous structure of grainy white marble. This bathhouse is 810.0 m2 designed in 2017 by the architects Aby Helfon and Ramon Helfon. It will be situated in Mexico City’s Bosques de las Lomas neighbourhood.
The volume of this bathhouse is sectioned by a series of retractions and slots that separate public from private spaces. The concept for this interior space links warmth and purity, creating serenity in the human bath and wellness. This spa allows women to bathe calmly and freely with additional support in skin care and body health. We welcome bees to this space to do their magic. Each bee cubby will hold different entities; flowers, water, beehive and honeycomb. There are hollow cylinders that connect from one cubby to another, allowing bees to pass through. The importance of this concept is to foster purity in bathing culture.
